THE BIG BOUNCE

Ok now... I am back. My car is back home with the help of my family and although I now have to change the dead battery that I suspect might have been switched during the 2 days in the city pound it's good to have wheels again. It's hard to understand how it's actually more expensive to NOT have a car in NY. Yeah I know all the arguments about parking, tickets, maintenance, etc but the daily cost of a commute from home to JFK works out to be less with a car... funny.

Attended an amateur comedy night last night at a friend's fabulous apartment. It's a community of artist that is designed to promote creativity. They have periodic shows, comedy and music and gotta say it wasn't bad. Not sure if I enjoyed myself because of the company I shared or because it was a little escape but it might have something to do with the Cuban meal, with sangria and the Johnny Walker Black on the rocks we shared on her incredible deck complete with a view of NYC. Open air, witty conversation and good ole booze would make most things enjoyable.

During the little get-together afterwards I got some good feedback on the direction I'm taking my book. I've won over another fan or at least an interested party which just pushes me to get this out there sooner rather than later.

Things are looking up. The "day after" always seems to offer some sort of renewed promise. I'm am not nearly as distressed as I was just a week ago and looking forward to the future.

So I'll end this entry without my usual deep thought and just say look out because here I come.

Pepsi failed to realize in order to inspire true authentic passion on a topic like this you HAVE to pick a side.  YOU HAVE TO PICK A SIDE.   You have to either risk being controversial in controversial times or stay out of the CONVERSATION all together, you know... to reference their own ad. W hat we witnessed last night July 13, 2013 doesn't even come close to resembling justice yet it’s the system we live under; a system that is sending a clear and not so subtle message that people of color are not equally protected under the law. Do not tell me this wasn't racial. Do not insult my intelligence with fairy tales of equality designed to lull  disenfranchised masses into compliance. If the ethnicities had been reversed the Sanford police department would NOT have had to yield to pressure to arrest the shooter, it would have been done.
